‘A New Beginning’ Obama’s Hand That Still Haunt Egypt

Still No Answer to Egyptian Prayers
Not much religious enthusiast but if God cursed Egypt, then this might be beyond divine intervention. Outraged Egyptian citizens take it back to Tahrir Square for the third time, hoping that God could hear their prayer. Have the past Egyptian Revolutions since the Arab springs helped in bringing change to the country despite 2009 Barack Obama’s iconic ‘A New Beginning’ visit accompanied by promises. Well, guess what the then Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden said in response to the visit, Obama laying a foundation for a long war. For ones people could see the world worst enemy saw something in Obama following these back to back Egyptian revolutions.
Well, Egypt seems to have just ignited their third revolution in a single decade each resulting in a regime change and restructuring of the government hoping for a change. Chanting “leave Sisi” and a similar chant used during the Arab Springs on a march against Gen Hosni Mubarak 9 years ago indicates the strength of this protest. Egyptian Center for Economic and social rights has so far recorded over 60 arrests which are suspected of having increased by Saturday night. Anti-Sisi protest came after Egyptian actor and real estate developer Mohamed Ali had posted videos. These videos ostensibly depicted acts of corruption by Sisi and the Egyptian ruling class. It became more appealing to the citizens as the North African nation has been experiencing economic frustrations and dying democracy.

From Bad hand To Worst
Following the Arab spring Washington, under the administration of Obama, played a role in toppling a longtime Egyptian dictator and American ally Hosni Mubarak. White-house assumed some dirty roles of the opposition like the famous rape in Tahir Square and repression of Christians. Mubarak’s reign that was replaced by the Obama administration’s ally and a brotherhood terrorist member president Mohamed Morsi. The regime change brought happiness in the White-house. Obama applauds and said in his speech “There are very few moments in our lives where we have the privilege to witness history taking place.” Hillary Clinton also recognized and acknowledged the stability of the new Egyptian government, and in her speech, Clinton stated, “looking for ways to respond to the legitimate needs and interests of the Egyptian people.”

Obama speech to Muslim world in Cairo

Where It Started

‘A New Beginning’ they called it, 4th June 2009, a historical moment was about to be made inside the conference hall of the University of Cairo. A newly elected US President Barack Hussein Obama delivered a speech. A speech which was speculated to mend the US relation with the Muslim nations and a fight for democracy restoration in Muslim countries across the world. A brilliant, persuader and a good bargainer who opponent would never give a chance. In his speech to the Muslim world, he started by selling his infamous name Hussein, pledging his affinity to Muslims and calling out the Muslim prayer the prettiest sound on earth. He won the heart of all doubters and critics who never in life gave ears to any American diplomat in the entire Middle East.
Obama’s speech sounded like hope to mere citizens who indeed wanted peace. And the New Beginning was indeed on its first step in the Middle East starting from the podium at the university hall. Praised by a large number of dignitaries, institutions and world leaders from the Vatican to head of Arab League to Fawzi Barhum, the notorious Hamas militia group spokesperson. A critic from the late Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden who quoted, ” he has followed the steps of his predecessor in antagonizing Muslims … and laying the foundation for long wars.” Seem to be taking order of the situation in the Middle East from the war in Benghazi to Yemen. Towards the end of his speech, the president recognized the presence of Islam Brotherhood members presented by over ten members at the event. Brotherhood, a renowned Islamic terror group in the Middle East, took over the government after a successful ouster of Mubarak reign and active participants in overthrowing of Muammar Qaddafi with the support of The Libyan rebel leader Abel-Hakim al-Hasidi. Hasidi who was confirmed to have fought as an Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan before his arrest. Brotherhood is also known for weapon funneling in the Middle East as a shadowy intermediary in CIA gunrunning.
